Ross is a part
- time senior lecturer at Damelin Management School in Business
Management Studies, Strategic Management (Business Policy), Marketing
& Sales Management, Small Business Management and Business Marketing
Policy. He is involved in the development of Executive Development
Programs and various Leadership Courses and is currently writing
and researching on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Neuro Linguistic
Programming (NLP) with specific reference to Sales Training and
Customer Service Excellence.
He
also conducts Corporate Sales Training Courses and Strategic Management
Plans for small companies and the bigger corporations and writes
various Sales Course Development Programs. He has facilitated Strategic
Marketing and Business Solutions for various private and listed
companies and successfully consulted for various large multi-national
companies listed on the JSE.
Ross
has 22 years of Marketing and Strategic Business experience and
has until recently been the acting CEO for a big multi-national,
part of an International Retail and Wholesale Organisation in Germany
and Europe, when he was approached in December 1997, to help "turn
the company around."
Under
his management the Group achieved a 296% growth in Turnover, 229%
growth in GP per employee and a 482% growth in Profit Earnings for
the year ending December 1999 after which the Group showed it's
first profit from a R9m. operating loss.
An
article in HABITAT May/June issue 2000 saw Ross featured as one
of the Profilers of this very successful bi-monthly issue.
Under
his expert guidance this company became one of the TOP 300 COMPANIES
in South Africa for the Cape Regions in 1999 and 2000. (TOP 300
Companies Millennium Edition)
After
his 3 year contract (Dec. 1997 to Dec. 2000) Ross stayed on by mutual
agreement for another 9 months after which he resigned and decided
to pursue his own interests in Corporate Sales Training, Business
Consulting and Lecturing.
Ross
completed his MBA cum laude, and is currently busy with his Doctoral
Studies (Ph.D.). He was appointed as the Academic Head of Damelin/Oxford
Brookes MBA in the Western Cape, specifically to develop the Open
Learning MBA Study Program and Part Time MBA Study Programs for
Postgraduate Business Sciences, for Damelin (S.A.) and Oxford-Brookes
University in the United Kingdom.
Ross
is also the holder of double Springbok colours, received senior
provincial colours in six different sports and played in 74 Currie
Cup matches (including 5 finals) for Free State, 17 Currie Cup matches
for Northern Transvaal, and for the SA XV against the All Blacks.
He received SA Games colours for Triathlon, did the gruelling Iron
Man twice (160-Km) and has successfully completed 14 Argus Cycle
Tours.
